BlueScope is seeking a Processing Team Leader for the Hot Coil Processing & Despatch Operations at Port Kembla, in a fortnightly staff shift on a 5-day x 12-hour day/night roster. You’ll lead shift operations, coach and develop the team, ensure on-time delivery and quality, and uphold safety while managing operating costs and driving continuous improvement, supporting Operations Coordinators and Engineers through change initiatives. A tertiary or trade qualification in engineering or science is well regarded, with demonstrated leadership ability, adaptability to cover multiple roles, and influence with peers. The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Hot Coil Processing & Despatch Operations team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Processing Team Leader. The HCPD (Hot Coil Processing & Despatch) Operations is a key asset in the Hot Mills business that manufactures and despatches a range of coil products including Hot Rolled Coil, TRU-SPEC® Steel, EMBAR™ Steel and Hot Rolled Slit Strip largely into the domestic market.
You’ll work collaboratively with the team, ensuring shift operations teams are focused on the delivery of exceptional performance and play a pivotal role in being the key point of contact for our shift operations. You’ll ensure the on time delivery and quality of our products is at the highest standards for our customers. As a Relief role, you will assist and provide coverage in various areas within the department leading continuous improvement projects, supporting operations engineers and coordinators and actively support management during change initiatives. You’ll lead and manage the team’s success through their performance and productivity to ensure our business plan objectives and targets are continually met.
