What you can expect when joining the team
We are hiring our first Procurement Manager to establish and scale the procurement function at Petal. As the founding member of this team, you will design procurement from the ground up, introducing structure, processes, and best practices that empower our teams to move quickly while ensuring compliance and cost optimization.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role within a rapidly growing SaaS company that is transforming Canadian healthcare.
Your daily life
In your day to day, you will be led to:
Lead end-to-end procurement activities, including vendor selection, pricing negotiations, and contract renewals;
Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, and Security to align vendor agreements with budget, compliance, and risk standards;
Establish and maintain a centralized repository of vendor contracts, terms, and renewal dates;
Implement scalable, business-friendly procurement processes and tools (e.g., approval flows, spend management systems);
Drive continuous improvement in vendor terms, service levels, and cost optimization;
Advise and support budget owners in vendor evaluation and sourcing to maximize ROI;
Act as a trusted advisor and change agent to business teams on procurement best practices.
Your profile
Are you a seasoned procurement leader, known for your ability to build strong vendor partnerships, negotiate win-win agreements, and design efficient processes that balance speed with control? Are you looking for the opportunity to create a procurement function from the ground up in a high-growth, proudly Canadian company that is revolutionizing healthcare? The sky is the limit! If you have:
10+ years of procurement, sourcing, or vendor management experience (ideally in SaaS or technology);
Proven expertise in negotiating software/SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and professional services agreements;
Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and comfort with contract review processes;
A pragmatic, business-friendly approach: balancing rigor with speed;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across Finance, Legal, IT, and Operations;
Experience with procurement or spend management platforms (e.g., Coupa, Zip, Vendr, Ironclad). Successful implementations are a strong asset;
Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2) and vendor risk management;
Self-starter who thrives in fast-growing, scaling environments;
Since you will be regularly interacting with English-speaking colleagues and vendors located outside of Québec, proficiency in both English and French (spoken, written, and read) is required.
