Position Overview

 

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our growing team to support the procurement of insulation materials across our Construction business. This role is ideal for individuals with insulation or field experience who are looking to build and develop a long-term career in procurement, with hands-on exposure to sourcing, bid evaluation, supplier management, and procurement processes.

 

Position Details:

  • This position will be Office Based (Edmonton, Alberta).
  • 40 Hours per week

 

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Process

  • Support the procurement process by reviewing material requisitions from the project team
  • Assist in preparing and issuing RFQs/RFPs based on project requirements.
  • Participate in supplier sourcing and evaluation, considering quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Support the creation and issuance of purchase orders (POs), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Supplier & Order Management

  • Coordinate with suppliers to support order progress and delivery schedules.
  • Assist in tracking material deliveries and communicating updates or delays to the project team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date PO records to support invoicing and project tracking.
  • Support PO close-out activities in accordance with project and company requirements.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work collaboratively with project teams, construction, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of procurement reports.
  • Build an understanding of procurement processes, systems, and client requirements.
  • Support schedule tracking and proactively escalate potential issues as they arise.

Required

  • Previous experience in an industrial construction environment, including insulation or related trades
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Preferred

  • Apprentice or Journeyman Insulator
  • Interest in developing a career in Procurement or Supply Chain Management
  • Diploma, degree, or certification in Supply Chain Management or a related field
