Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is seeking a Product Development Engineer for a full time, onsite Auckland role focused on expanding Optiflow therapy. The position blends product design, hands on prototyping, and end to end project management to move concepts into the hands of clinicians, with collaborative work across multiple functions. Ideal candidates will hold a Mechanical, Mechatronics or Biomedical Engineering degree and bring several years of experience in new product development, prototyping and manufacturing methods such as CNC or injection moulding, plus testing, documentation, project management and knowledge of medical device regulations. About The Role

We are looking for versatile individuals who are passionate about problem solving and have the perseverance to change clinical practice. Your excellent communication and collaboration skills will enable you to work both within the team and across various functions, to deliver products from theoretical concepts into the hands of our customers. You enjoy product design, hands on prototyping, project management and seeing a project through from start to finish.  

 

Skills & Experience  

We are looking for applicants with 2-5 7 years of experience and a qualification in either Mechanical, Mechatronics or Biomedical Engineering. You may have experience with some or all the following: 

  • New product development
  • Designing and building prototypes
  • CNC Machining
  • Injection moulding and other manufacturing methods
  • Product testing and documentation
  • Project Management
  • Medical device regulations and standards
