Apparel Group seeks a hands-on Production Assistant to work onsite in Umm al-Quwain, United Arab Emirates, supporting machine operators, managing material flow, and maintaining safety, cleanliness, and accurate records. You will assist with setup and shutdown, monitor equipment, perform basic adjustments under supervision, handle materials, and support 5S compliant housekeeping and changeovers. Objective:
Plays a hands-on role in supporting machine operators and supervisors during day-to-day production activities. The role ensures uninterrupted workflow through material handling, basic machine support, monitoring, and housekeeping activities. By maintaining safety, cleanliness, and accurate production records, the position contributes to operational efficiency and consistent production output.
Key responsibilities:
1. Production Support & Machine Assistance
Assist machine operators during setup, start-up, operation, and shutdown of production equipment.
Monitor machines during operation to ensure smooth and continuous production.
Carry out basic machine adjustments under supervision and report abnormalities or breakdowns immediately.
Support supervisors during product changeovers and shift transitions.
2. Material Handling & Workflow Management
Supply raw materials to machines to maintain steady production flow and prevent downtime.
Load, unload, and transport raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods using trolleys or pallet jacks.
Measure, weigh, and verify materials before feeding them into the production process.
Ensure correct material handling to avoid damage, wastage, or contamination.
3. Safety, Housekeeping & 5S Compliance
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with 5S and workplace safety standards.
Clean machines, molds, tools, conveyors, and workstations during changeovers and end-of-shift activities.
Follow all SOPs, safety guidelines, and PPE requirements at all times.
Report unsafe conditions or practices to supervisors promptly.
4. Documentation & Operational Reporting Support
Assist in maintaining basic production records such as output counts and raw material batch details.
Support tracking and reporting of machine downtime and minor production interruptions.
Ensure accurate communication of operational issues to supervisors for timely resolution.
Follow instructions related to documentation and compliance requirements.
Desired Experience:
High school diploma, technical certificate, or equivalent qualification.
1–3 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, factory, or assembly-line environment.
Basic mechanical aptitude with familiarity in handling manual or automated tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
Physically fit and able to handle materials and equipment safely.
Ability to follow instructions, SOPs, and safety procedures consistently.
Reliable team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Comfortable working in a production or manufacturing environment with shift-based operations.
