TE Connectivity is hiring a Production Operator III for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:30 pm to 11 pm) in Fairmont, NC. You will set up and operate machines, monitor production, read BOMs and blueprints, adjust controls, and ensure parts meet specifications while keeping tools and the work area organized and safe. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years in machine operation, basic computer skills (Excel), and a proven ability to read drawings and solve problems independently. Forklift experience is a plus; you’ll lift up to 50 lbs and coordinate with Quality Control and the Cell Lead. Job Overview

Sets up and operates machines and tools to perform various manufacturing operations and maintains them to adhere to quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • Set up and operate various machines and assemble parts as directed by Cell Lead.
  • Use computer-controlled equipment to operate automatic or semi-automatic machines.
  • Use controls and adjust machine settings to complete more complex tasks according to specifications.
  • Effectively monitor production equipment.
  • Read and understand bill of materials and blueprints of drawings.
  • Communicate with Cell Lead on all issues related to discrepancies on drawing or BOM.
  • Inspect products and ensure they conform to specification and industry standards.
  • Operate air and power tools, as needed.
  • Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers and tape measure.
  • Maintain productivity at levels that match or exceed production standards.
  • Communicate with the Cell Lead about production flow.
  • Responsible for following safety rules as well as using safe procedures.
  • Keeping all tools and supplies in their work area put away in the appropriate location on a daily basis. Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control Department.
  • Operate a forklift/ Walk behind.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What your background should look like

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of experience operating machinery.
  • Basic computer knowledge and familiar with Excel.
  • Read and understand blueprints/drawings.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Knowledge of various types of equipment such as: air and power tools and rulers, tape measures
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to identify quality issues

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous standing, moving, and reaching with arms and hand.
  • Frequently walks, bends, lifts, and carries items.
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a shop environment.
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, and odors.
  • Exposed to moving parts and chemicals

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $22.45- 33.65 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
