Bombardier seeks a Professional Engineer, In-service Stress, to join its Québec site on a full time onsite basis. You will support stress in-service repair activities and perform static strength, fatigue and durability, and damage tolerance analyses, including FEM for Challenger and Global programs. You’ll prepare stress reports for compliance, run design and repair trade studies, and review repair drawings while collaborating with multiple disciplines to develop in-service repairs that meet certification requirements. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 10+ years in aerospace, and Patran/Nastran, Nasgro, and CATIA V5 proficiency, plus strong communication. What are your contributions to the team?

  • Support stress in-service repair activities
  • Perform various stress analyses on repairs, including static strength, fatigue/durability, damage tolerance, and finite element modeling (FEM) for multi-platform aircraft programs (Challenger and Global)
  • Prepare stress reports, including static strength and damage tolerance analyses, for compliance purposes
  • Carry out stress calculations to assess design solutions and support repair trade studies
  • Review repair engineering drawings and actively contribute to the development of in-service repair solutions by collaborating with various disciplines and stakeholders while considering airworthiness regulations
  • Produce and develop repairs that comply with applicable certification and airworthiness requirements, as well as Bombardier methodologies

How to thrive in this role?

  • You hold a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
  • you have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry
  • You have experience in Aircraft Structural substantiation analysis: Static, Fatigue/Durability, and good knowledge and experience in structural Damage Tolerance Analysis
  • You have experience using Patran/Nastran, Nasgro, CATIA V5
  • You have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • You are a confident, knowledgeable and energetic person with excellent communication and listening skills, able to work in a team environment
  • You demonstrate initiative, a strong sense of responsibility and good engineering judgment and a customer oriented mindset
