Bombardier is looking for a Professional in Mechanical/Aerospace Service Engineering for a full‑time onsite role in Québec. You’ll handle customer needs, resolve mechanical issues, analyze interior modification drawings and compliance reports, review designs, and coordinate with departments, service centers, vendors and Transport Canada for approvals. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or equivalent, 5–10 years in aircraft Interiors, Structure or Systems, with AutoCAD and MS Office experience; Siemens NX is an asset. Strong autonomy, project management, bilingual fluency in French and English, and teamwork are essential. What are your contributions to the team?
- Handle customer needs, either by supporting requests for improvements or by solving in-service mechanical problems;
- Respond to urgent grounded aircraft (AOG) situations;
- Analyze and create interior modification drawing, test procedure and compliance reports;
- Review engineering designs and actively participate in the development and integration of in-service solutions;
- Organize investigations into service issues and determine the root cause of a failure and devise effective and innovative solutions;
- Use your judgment and initiative to recognize the implications of your proposed solutions on other Aircraft systems and installations;
- Support preliminary installations of service bulletins (proofs);
- Coordinate and liaise with other departments, service centers, vendors and suppliers on projects. Support Transport Canada delegates for the approval of these projects.
How to thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent working experience;
- You have five (5) to ten (10) years of experience with engineering related to aircraft Interiors, Structure and/or Systems;
- Knowledge of Autocad and MS Office, Siemens NX is an asset;
- You are an autonomous person, capable of working with a minimum of supervision;
- You have good project management skills and understanding of impact of deliverables on project schedules;
- You have a thirst for knowledge, like to discover the “why” and find solutions to problems;
- You are able to quickly absorb information and, in some cases, ready to learn to support various requests;
- You are open-minded, able to easily change direction and pursue new avenues in order to successfully accomplish your projects;
- You are a team player, who easily integrates himself/herself to a group and is ready to help colleagues;
- You demonstrate a spirit of innovation, professionalism and commitment;
- You have a good grasp of French and English, oral and written, enabling you to interact with customers, impacted groups and you are comfortable leading discussions;
- You have knowledge of aircraft certification (Type Design and Supplemental Type Design, major repairs/modification, etc.) (an asset).
