Bombardier is hiring a Professional Senior in Engineering - Thermodynamics to join the Aerospace team in Quebec onsite. The role covers heat transfer, piping networks, thermodynamics and icing analyses, requiring framing results within aircraft design and sizing, plus test planning and documenting results. Candidates should hold a mechanical or aerospace engineering degree (Master’s preferred) with at least 12 years’ experience in thermodynamics or icing, proficiency in MS Excel, and comfort with Unix programming and languages such as Fortran, C++ or Python; knowledge of Flomaster or Star CCM+ is a plus. What are your contributions to the team?

  • Perform complex analyses of heat transfer, pipe network flow, thermodynamics or aircraft Icing.
  • Understand and frame the results within the context of the design and right sizing of an aircraft
  • Prepare test plans
  • Document analysis, ground and flight test results
  • Write and update Engineering practice documents

How to thrive in this role?

  • You have a bachelor’s in mechanical or aerospace engineering (including courses or projects in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, in-flight icing and/or CFD analyses). Having a Master is an asset.
  • You have a minimum of 12 years of experience in the thermodynamics and icing engineering field.
  • Self-motivated and innovative team player.
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office software (advanced level for Excel).
  • Knowledge of Siemens Flomaster or Star CCM+ is an asset.
  • You are familiar with programming (Unix Operating System and with programming languages such as Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic, C++/C# & Python is an asset).
  • You possess good interpersonal skills as well as good written and oral communication skills.
  • Willing to travel for short term assignments.
