Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Program Manager to join our team in the Amsterdam, Netherlands office. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the successful execution and launch of complex development projects in line with established product goals and objectives. This role is tasked with ensuring that new product development projects meet the established goals with clear focus on cost, timing, and risk identification and mitigation.

Essential Functions:  

  • Clear internal leader of cross functional project teams for assigned projects
  • Single point contact ultimately accountable for the successful delivery of projects
  • Leadership of one or more active programs of standard complexity and timing
  • Protect project scope, timing, and financial commitments and enforce formal change control over any deviations
  • Manage projects through all phases including definition, concept selection, contract acceptance, design validation, and start of production
  • Enforce Brunswick’s High Performance Product Development (HPPD) stage gate process through each project phase
  • Manage and protect project Critical Path to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Prepare and present on-time gate reviews and records of decision to senior management.
  • Manage expense, capital, and labor expenditures and forecasting for multiple projects.
  • Track and report key financial project measures.
  • Manage project Risks and Issues following Escalation guidelines as appropriate
  • Utilize strong decision making and leadership abilities to manage multiple projects to meet goals for cost, quality, and on time delivery.
  • Conduct regular project status reviews in monthly leadership status meetings.
  • Ensure collection of lessons learned, facilitate root cause analysis, and share-out plans
  • Manage mix of large HPPD and custom product quote and release projects.
  • Utilize decision guidelines and apply lessons learned to help commonize approaches to solving complex new product development problems.
  • Utilize standard methodologies, tools, and frameworks to help provide leadership for best practices on project and functional teams.
  • Support development of project scope and resource requirements during portfolio planning process based on program benchmark data and stakeholder input.
  • Occasional travel required to domestic and overseas suppliers and Brunswick manufacturing locations.
  • Drive validation build process with support from New Product Introduction planning functions.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent
  • Knowledge: Excellent working knowledge of project management. Some experience in other functional areas related to product management or product development preferred. 
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management following a stage gate product development process
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a consistent approach to managing cross-functional teams in a matrix arrangement
  • Fundamental understanding of project management and new product development processes
  • Strong organizational skills maintaining project records and documentation
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Conflict resolution skills and assertiveness
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate a strong desire to exceed expectations inherent with the position.  Excel in a team environment, demonstrate an upbeat attitude, willingness to be heard, and ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PMP certification (or equivalent) preferred or a willingness to achieve within 1 year of hire
  • Passion for boating and/or fishing a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • In office on a hybrid basis is required
  • 5-10% travel internationally
