About the Role

As Project Commissioning Lead, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and certifying the safe integration of new or modified utility assets into Endeavour Energy's operational network. Covering electrical, civil, and systems infrastructure, this critical role ensures all assets are thoroughly tested, compliant with performance requirements, and safe to energise before formal handover to Operations.

You will serve as the commissioning authority throughout project delivery, providing assurance that infrastructure is fit for service and meets all technical, safety, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain commissioning plans, including testing scope, sequencing, isolation requirements, resources, and cut-over activities.
  • Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary commissioning and testing activities to ensure safe, compliant, and effective system integration.
  • Verify assets meet approved designs, technical standards, and performance requirements prior to energisation.
  • Manage asset handover to Operations, ensuring complete and compliant documentation, test records, manuals, and warranties.
  • Act as the commissioning authority during energisation, ensuring safe execution, procedural compliance, and site control.
  • Identify and drive resolution of commissioning defects and non-conformances before asset acceptance.
  • Contribute to design reviews and Safety-in-Design processes to support practical and safe commissioning outcomes.
  • Oversee contractor and vendor commissioning activities to ensure compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and technical requirements.
  • Provide commissioning assurance and recommendations at key project milestones to confirm readiness for energisation and operational service.


Qualifications, Certifications and Licences

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; or
  • Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) supported by significant relevant technical experience.

Desirable

  • Qualification in Project Management.

Skills and Experience

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in commissioning, field engineering, maintenance, or related roles within high-voltage utilities, power generation, transmission, distribution, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading commissioning activities for complex brownfield projects involving integration of new assets into live operational systems.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors within site-based project environments.
