Job Description

RESPEC seeks a Project Engineer-In-Training in our Land Development sector, located in San Antonio, TX. The Engineer (EIT) position is intended for a broad land development and public works professional, with experience across site civil design, permitting, and project delivery. Strong stormwater and hydrologic/hydraulic expertise is preferred to support cross-discipline projects, but the role is not limited to stormwater-only practice.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification or have the ability to obtain within a year of employment
  • 4 years of relevant land development engineering experience in the following areas:
    • Private-sector commercial, residential, and mixed-use land development
    • Preparing engineering reports, civil construction plans, and permitting submittals
    • Working within small to mid-sized design teams
    • Providing land development engineering services in Texas
    • Knowledgeable of stormwater analysis, site drainage, and civil design standards
  • Practical application of various software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD,  Hydraflow Express, Bentley storm suites and other common hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Central Texas market experience, particularly the San Antonio and Austin regions
  • Familiarity with local and state permitting agencies and development regulations
  • Experience on private site development and public works projects, including street, drainage, and utility design, as stand-alone assignments or as part of multidisciplinary project teams
