Requirements include a tertiary degree in mechanical or structural engineering, 5+ years in project engineering or site execution involving SMP scopes, and proven ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces and contractors. Our Waihi Operation in the North Island of New Zealand is an underground gold mine. A recent consent for the Waihi North Project, a new mine to be developed 6km north of the existing operation has provided a long-term extension of mine life providing our 400 staff and contractors, and the people of Waihi, an assurance that we plan to be here for the long-term.
As part of the Waihi North Project team, the purpose of this role is to manage and coordinate Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) project activities from planning through execution and handover. The position is responsible for ensuring SMP works are delivered safely, to specification, on schedule and within budget, while coordinating contractors, engineering interfaces, procurement inputs, construction activities and commissioning support in alignment with project and operational requirements.
