Purpose
- As a Project Information Manager, you manage and coordinate project information, ensuring effective data capture, storage, and sharing. Implement strategies to support project goals, ensure compliance, and enhance communication among stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the management of information throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that data is collected, organized, and maintained effectively to support project goals.
- Develop and implement project information management plans, including protocols for data governance, storage, retrieval, and dissemination.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to define information needs, ensuring that the right data is available at the right time to inform decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to project information management, implementing necessary controls and procedures.
- Oversee the integration of information management systems with project management tools and processes, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility.
- Monitor and assess the performance of information management practices, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide training and guidance to project teams on information management best practices, ensuring consistency and accuracy in data handling.
- Coordinate with IT and data management teams to ensure that project information systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in information management, integrating innovative solutions to improve project outcomes.
- Report on project information management activities and performance to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for strategic improvements.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in information management, project management, computer science, or a related field is required. Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Professional (CIP), or PRINCE2 are highly recommended. Proficiency in project management methodologies and information management practices is essential. A master’s degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in information management or project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing complex projects.
- Proven experience in overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of information management projects, ensuring that project goals are met on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in implementing and managing information management systems, including document management systems (DMS), content management systems (CMS), and data governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement project management strategies, policies, and procedures that align with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
- Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and communicating project progress, risks, and issues effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in using project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Asana, to manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Knowledge of information governance, data security, and compliance standards, ensuring that projects adhere to relevant regulations such as GDPR or HIPAA.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex project challenges and drive solutions that meet both business and technical requirements.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive project success in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Professional (CIP), or PRINCE2 are preferred.
