As a Project Manager for Manufacturing Systems, you will play a key role in driving Hitachi Energy's Industry 4.0 transformation by coordinating and facilitating the comprehensive planning, execution, and evaluation of complex automation projects across the manufacturing landscape.
You will lead the implementation of innovative smart factory technologies in cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes to extend our manufacturing capabilities.
How you’ll make an impact
Work closely with machine suppliers, internal teams, and external partners to help develop project concepts that follow Industry 4.0 and automation best practices
Support strategic planning by helping to compare options, prepare business cases, and contribute to wellinformed investment decisions
Support project teams across different business functions and help ensure good alignment and clear communication with all stakeholders involved
Manage project budgets and costs, making sure financial guidelines are followed and projects support Hitachi Energy’s financial goals
Track project progress, flag potential risks or delays early, and ensure timely issue resolution and risk mitigations together with the team
Coordinate project implementation from early concepts and specifications through to supplier equipment delivery and integration with our OT systems
Your background
Degree in engineering (MSc or BSc), ideally in industrial automation, systems engineering, or a related discipline, with experience in advanced automation technologies, factory operations, IT architecture and Industry 4.0 concepts
Around 2–3 years of relevant work experience, for example in engineering, manufacturing, automation, or project-related roles
Experience in motivating cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and achieving project goals within specified timelines and budgets
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to structure challenges, analyze technical topics, and support the resolution of issues during project execution
Experience supporting projects from concept through to implementation, preferably in a manufacturing environment; experience in semiconductor assembly or testing is a plus, and project management certification is an advantage but not required
Familiarity with agile project or engineering methods is a plus
Business fluent English and German
