The Project Manager is accountable to provide leadership and direction to a project team and/or a portfolio of projects. As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this position is responsible for the effective utilization of people, material, financial resources and human capital in order to manage, coordinate and lead major projects for the whole project lifecycle; ensuring alignment with departmental and corporate strategic goals and objectives.
• Manage the scope, schedule cost, contracts and relationships between stakeholders of all assigned projects according to project specifications
• Manage the project team and oversee integration, communications, quality, risk and procurement integration and strategies
• Report on trends, variances and provide leadership to take corrective action when project(s) deviate from original plans and objectives
• Manage project work load(s) by delegating responsibilities and authority to task managers and project team members
• Prepare and submit project budget estimates and tender evaluations in alignment with departmental strategic plans and forecasting initiatives
• Plan and prepare project schedules and milestones while monitoring progress against established schedules
• Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
• Develop and implement appropriate quality, change management and communication strategies
• Anticipate, assess and manage project risks during execution
• Assess, develop and implement new technologies, standards, processes and methodologies
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure necessary and qualified personnel are assigned to projects
• Represent SaskPower on matters both internal and external to the corporation
• Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients, senior management and executive staff
• Ensure project plans and tasks are implemented in accordance with applicable technical, environmental and safety regulations, policies and procedures
• Provide and demonstrate leadership, team building and direction to project personnel including SaskPower and Contractor employees
• Other related duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a related field AND/OR;
• Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) (PMP, Prince2)
• Years of related experience
• Ability to strategize, plan and organize
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Results oriented thinker, with the ability to influence and manage complex and confidential projects/issues with sensitivity and professionalism

NOTES:
Placement within the Project Manager stream, is dependent on a combination of qualifications and experience. Progression to the next band/level will be granted once the requirements for the next level is achieved.
Placement and progression criteria are below:
• Band 5, Level 1: Employee does not possess either the Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince designation
• Band 5, Level 2: Possession of either the Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince designation
