A little taste of your day-to-day:
• Ensure items meet required quality and quantity standards at the best possible cost
• Source suppliers, conduct price canvassing, and obtain competitive quotations in line with purchasing guidelines
• Prepare supplier comparison lists with at least three quotations per item
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, and follow up on approvals and delivery schedules
• Maintain close coordination between requisitioners and suppliers, especially for quality-critical items
• Follow up on undelivered or unsatisfactory items and raise concerns with suppliers when required
• Maintain accurate records of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supporting documents
• Keep an updated list of accredited suppliers for reference
• Communicate supply shortages, surplus, or seasonal changes to the Executive Chef and relevant departments
• Share supplier promotions and updates with the purchasing team and management
• Support compliance with legal, ethical, health, hygiene, and fire life safety requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a related field, or relevant hotel purchasing experience
• Proven experience in a managerial role within Purchasing
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, support, and develop the purchasing team
• Solid knowledge of sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management in a hotel environment
• Experience in a resort or luxury resort setting is a strong advantage
• Excellent organisational and documentation skills with close attention to detail
• Ability to work confidently with senior leaders, department heads, and external suppliers
• Clear understanding of ethical, legal, and safety compliance requirements
• Fluent in English with a professional, responsible, and hands-on approach to work
