Pacific National, Australia’s largest private rail freight operator, is hiring Qualified Locomotive Drivers to join the Geelong team and support regional Victorian freight across a diverse customer portfolio. In this full‑time, onsite role you will prepare, inspect and safely operate locomotives, run train services in line with rail safety standards, complete operational documentation and collaborate with Train Control to maintain strong DIFOT performance. You’ll identify hazards, lead safe work practices and contribute to a positive team culture while supporting continuous improvement. An opportunity has become available for Qualified Locomotive Drivers to join our Geelong team, supporting regional Victorian freight operations across a diverse customer portfolio.

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Supervisor, you will:

• Prepare, inspect and operate locomotives safely
• Operate train services in accordance with rail safety standards and Pacific National procedures
• Complete operational and compliance documentation
• Work collaboratively with Train Control and operational teams
• Deliver strong DIFOT performance
• Identify and report hazards and safety risks
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Demonstrate leadership in safety and safe work practices
• Contribute to a positive team culture

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate IV in Train Driving (please upload during application)
• VIC route knowledge highly regarded
• Freight rail experience
• Strong commitment to safety
• Professional and accountable approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Basic computer literacy
• Current driver's licence
• Ability to meet rail medical requirements
• Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster
