SGS is looking for a Quality Control Inspector, Civil, to join full time onsite in Ras Al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. You will review project documentation including submittals, inspection and test plans, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements and provide feedback to the QA/QC Manager. Civil inspection activities will verify materials, workmanship, and construction against drawings, specs and codes, covering earthworks, asphalt paving, concrete works, drainage installations, and structures such as retaining walls, bridges, tunnels and dams, with final inspections before handover. Requirements: Diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; minimum 5 years in QC for road and infrastructure; relevant certifications (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CSWIP, BGAS, ASNT, IEC, NEC or local standards) plus material testing standards (BS, ASTM, AASHTO). Civil Inspection Activities
Conduct inspections at various stages of construction to verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with project specifications and standards in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
• Verify that the construction activities align with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
• Inspect and verify the quality of materials, including soil, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and other construction materials used in roads, drainage systems, and related infrastructure.
• Monitor construction activities, including but not limited to:
o Earthworks (cutting, filling, compaction, etc.)
o Asphalt paving and concrete works.
o Installation of drainage pipes, culverts, and manholes
o Retaining walls, bridges, Tunnels, Dams and related structures
• Participate in final inspections to confirm that all work meets the required quality standards before the handover phase.
Education: Diploma or degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
