Source Energy Services is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to own quality planning, testing and inspection, root cause analysis and CAPA, documentation and compliance, and cross-functional collaboration at the Peace River site. You will define and implement quality standards across Raw, WIP, Process, Finished Goods and Water, turn complex data into actionable insights, participate in design reviews, and help shape production strategy for in-basin reserves. You’ll lead CAPA efforts, design testing protocols, maintain audit and certification records, ensure regulatory and AER reporting, and train technicians while advancing a strong safety culture. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Quality Planning

    • Develop, implement, and analyze comprehensive quality standards and procedures (Raw, WIP, Process, Finished Goods, Water).
    • Transform raw quality data into meaningful analysis and reporting that allows key stakeholders to effectively address quality issues in a timely manner.
    • Participate in product and process design reviews to ensure quality requirements are met.
    • Partner with Senior PR Leaders to shape production strategies for in-basin reserves, including upper/lower paddy and coal.
    • Collaborate with internal and external technical experts to integrate data-driven solutions.
    • Provide leadership and technical input on major initiatives that will improve the quality.
    • Provide feedback and recommendations on areas impacting quality including but not limited to evaluation of pond, mechanical, and chemical mud management options.
    • Develop and implement water management strategies for both the existing facility and the expansion.
    • Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensures quality control technicians are trained and following established testing processes.
  • Testing & Inspection
    • Design and oversee testing protocols to ensure products meet specifications.
    • Analyze test data and inspection results to identify trends or issues. Escalate results to key decision makers as necessary.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions
    • Investigate quality issues and non-conformances.
    • Lead problem-solving efforts and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
    • Design and refine chemical approaches based on reserve characteristics to ensure cost-effective and sustainable outcomes
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain quality documentation such as inspection reports, audit findings, and certifications.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Support AER reporting processes in collaboration with team and other stakeholders as new requirements emerge
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with engineering, production, and customer service teams to align quality goals.
    • Support training and development related to quality practices.
  • Work with all levels of the organization to continue to drive a safety culture and the highest level of safety performance. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
