R&D Data Management (all genders) fixed term 12 months 

 

As a Research & Development Data Manager (m/f/d), you will provide ontologies and terminologies for core PH R&D areas as well as generate customized and semi-automated data curation workflows and services for application ontologies. Additionally, you will manage cross-functional projects in the area of data and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. This role is critical in ensuring the generation and maintenance of quality R&D data as measured by the FAIR framework

 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will enable digital platforms on operational level as foundation for data integration and curation
  • You will develop and implement customized and semi-automated data curation workflows
  • You will identify and evaluate new tools and technologies in the field of ontology usage, generation and management
  • You will carry out project management of cross-functional projects in the area of data integration
  • You will develop governance policies for the maintenance of ontologies and terminologies
  • You will collaborate with and guide a wide variety of internal and external partners. Internal partners include: - R&D Project Business Partner & Managers, Lab Heads, and Department Heads within PH, IT and data science related functions. External partners include vendors, data providers, CROs.

 

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have completed a Master’s degree in biomedical life sciences (especially Bioinformatics/Biochemistry/Biology/Medicine) while having a Ph.D. is desirable
  • You have a deep understanding of life science R&D processes with several years of practical experience in the pharmaceutical industry or comparable life science industry
  • You are an expert in management of ontologies and terminologies as well as data curation processes
  • You possess expert knowledge in tools for ontology management and data curation, especially TopBraid EDG
  • You bring good knowledge in the field of application of FAIR data principles
  • You are experienced in the field of information analysis using controlled vocabularies/thesauri/ontologies
  • Your good technical grasp, creativity and innovative mindset are part of your professional personality
  • You are an experienced leader in cross-functional projects
  • You demonstrate a high degree of reliability, upholding confidentiality, managing ambiguity and delivering under pressure
  • You show flexibility in engagement, conceptual and critical thinking and are very good communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken, complete your profile
