The position offers close collaboration with many internal interfaces across different locations and provides insight into the full lifecycle of high‑voltage switchgear products — from development and testing to production.
The role combines product ownership with interdisciplinary problem‑solving. Frequent interaction with factories and cross‑functional partners ensures a diverse and international work environment.
The team consists of experts in high‑voltage design, offering an excellent opportunity to further develop both electrical and mechanical design skills.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Take responsibility for products within the GIS portfolio and manage technical topics across the full lifecycle

  • Elaborating innovative product solutions following standards, design rules, guidelines, and internal processes

  • Managing small development projects

  • Work closely with global partners such as R&D centers, Product Management, Supply Chain Management, Production Lines, and Sales

  • Analyze and resolve interdisciplinary issues in test laboratories and on production lines

Your background

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred; Bachelor’s with at least two years of relevant experience also welcome)

  • Software skills or open to acquiring them (MS Office, 3D CAD, ERP)

  • Apprenticeship as a designer is an advantage

  • Experience with high‑voltage switchgear is beneficial, but not required

  • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary, and globally distributed environment

  • Creative, independent and solution-oriented approach
