HelloFresh is seeking a creative Recipe Developer (f/m/x) for a seven-month fixed-term contract in Amsterdam, combining time in the kitchen with a 50/50 hybrid work setup. You will develop and test new recipes, refine existing ones from weekly feedback, verify ingredient lists and plain language instructions, and partner with Editorial, Ingredient, and Procurement to hit nutritional targets, cost considerations, and concept briefings. The ideal candidate has a HBO/WO degree, a true love for food, is both creative and customer focused, data driven with Excel or Sheets proficiency, and fluent in English (Dutch a plus). The role: What's in the Box

We are looking for a creative Recipe Developer to join our dynamic and passionate HelloFresh team in Amsterdam! In this role, you will develop mouthwatering new recipes and enhance existing favorites to delight our customers. Your responsibilities will include crafting dishes that balance specific nutritional guidelines, cost targets, and concept definitions. You will be involved in every stage of the culinary process, from the initial ideation phase to test-cooking and validation. This role requires close collaboration with our Editorial, Ingredient, and Procurement teams to ensure the highest product quality. Please note that this opportunity is a fixed term contract for seven months to cover a maternity leave.

What you’ll do: The Recipe

• Developing new recipes while considering customer preferences, variety, nutritional values, ease of cooking, and seasonality. 
• Testing the recipes in our kitchen and making sure they are 100% complete before adding them to the recipe pool, ready to be planned on the menu. 
• Making necessary adjustments to existing recipes, based on weekly customer feedback to continually improve our recipes.
• Checking all recipes that go into the box; ensuring the ingredient list is filled in correctly, the text is accurate, and the recipe is written simply enough.
• Creating recipe variants on a weekly basis, swapping elements (e.g. swapping from beef to chicken) of existing recipes to offer customers more choice and variety. 
• Approximately once per quarter, you will have an on-call weekend shift to assist Production teams and minimize customer impact of last-minute issues.
• Support on various Culinary projects, ranging from a deep dive into the performance of specific recipe concepts to aligning on global recipes with recipe developers from other HelloFresh markets.

What you’ll bring: The Ingredients

• You have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree (HBO/WO level).
• You have a love for food, cooking, and beautiful ingredients.
• You are not only creative but also skilled at making your recipes easy for our customers to understand.
• Enjoyment of spending time in the kitchen and creating delicious meals.
• You are data-driven and customer-centric. The customer is always the focus of your work.
• Being a qualified dietitian is a nice-to-have
• You have experience with Excel/Google Sheets.
• You are fluent in both written and spoken English, knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
• Please note that you will spend a maximum of one to two days a week in the kitchen, while the rest of your working days will be dedicated to devising and developing recipes, as well as project work.
