For experienced refrigerated container and chassis technicians, this role is about passing down the knowledge that keeps people safe and equipment moving. You’ll work directly with students and systems, turning real experience into real capability.
Location & Travel
- M-F schedule
- Houston primary location
- Travel required: Up to 50% regional travel to support training locations
What You’ll Do
- Teach hands‑on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of refrigerated containers, transport refrigeration systems, and chassis/trailer repair
- Demonstrate real‑world diagnostics, safe work practices, and best‑in‑field standards

Train students on systems including:
- Refrigerant cycle including compressors, condensers, and evaporators
- Refrigeration controls and basic electrical diagnostics
- Diesel‑powered generator units
- ABS braking systems
- Coach students through live tasks and skill development
- Track progress and provide clear, practical feedback
- Help keep labs and equipment safe, organized, and industry‑ready
- This is hands‑on leadership—not classroom theory
What We’re Looking For
- Professional experience with transport or commercial refrigeration
- Strong working knowledge of refrigeration systems and controls
- Comfort with basic electrical troubleshooting
- Ability to explain why a fix matters—not just how to do it
- Willingness to mentor and set a strong example
- No teaching background required experience and credibility matter most.
Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 50% (Monday–Friday)
- Experience in: chassis and trailer repair, reefer unit maintenance and repair
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Generator experience
- AWS Welding certification
- Familiarity with IICL and/or FMCSA standards
