Summerset is seeking a registered nurse for our Palms village in Napier, full time and onsite, with a four on, two off PM shift pattern and 60 to 80 hours per fortnight. You will manage residents’ everyday needs, lead long term care planning and clinical assessments, and step in on shifts to make sound clinical decisions while guiding caregivers and building trusted relationships with residents and families. Job Description

As a Registered Nurse at our Summerset Palms village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

The shift pattern and hours for this role are: 4 days on, 2 days off working PM shifts. This is a full time role working 60 - 80 hours per fortnight.

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

•  A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
