Summerset is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its casual pool at the Nelson village, delivering high quality, resident-directed aged care and helping create the best possible lifestyle for residents. In this role you will manage a range of clinical to end-of-life needs, develop long-term care plans, occasionally lead the care centre on shifts, and mentor caregivers while building trusted relationships with residents and families, with a full uniform provided. Key requirements include NZ registration with a current Practising Certificate, a genuine interest in caring for older people, and the ability to stay calm under pressure and communicate clearly. Job Description:

As a Registered Nurse in our casual pool at our Nelson village, you will be part of a team of casuals that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

As a casual you will need to be available often at short notice for a variety of shifts.

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

You’ll bring with you:

•  A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
• Demonstrated ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and your colleagues
