The post holder will work collaboratively with other team members, uphold and live the NMC Nursing Strategy in order to provide safe and outstanding care to their patient, to the patient's bystanders all the time, every time
3.1 Renders Total Patient/Client care in the unit according to the Scientific Nursing Process following the guidelines of the International Patient Safety Goals, evidence-based practice, and clinical pathways as per policy.
3.2 Reflects Organizational mission, vision, and values in behavior, Integrates and demonstrates NMC culture orientation in daily activities taking into consideration cultural diversity specific to geographical area.
3.3 Performs the initial assessment of the patients.
3.4 Ensures clinic has relevant patient information leaflets, clinic is safe tidy and neat.
3.5 Coordinates with her/his designated area for smooth functioning and optimum patient care
3.6 Notify patients’ readiness of reports, arrange patient’s health care related appointments and treatments.
3.7 Adheres to patient rights, education, and statutory requirements.
3.8 Ensures patients records meet legal requirements, clinical requirement is accurately documented, Maintains safekeeping and confidentiality.
3.9 Conducts patient/family education and document it according to hospital policy.
3.10 Observes and coordinates Insurance guidelines with ot coordinator/schedulers, between patient, relatives, and insurance personnel, ensures any investigations, blood tests have prior approval under guidance of Physician/Anesthetist.
3.11 Demonstrates professional ethics and caring standards in behavior, complies with Nursing professional code of ethics.
3.12 Provides care and assistance with unit daily nursing tasks.
3.13 Promotes effective communication and interpersonal skills.
3.14 Observes patient privacy and confidentiality.
3.15 Attends to Unit telephone and follows telephone etiquette, orders stationery and other consumables, monitors usage.
3.16 Addresses patients’ needs according to set guidelines.
3.17 Updates and submits statistical information if required. Provides ad hoc secretarial support to unit staff.
3.18 Adheres to repairs and maintenance procedures where applicable.
3.19 Comply with all OSH (Occupational safety and Health) and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply with those requirements.
3.20 Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the unit as per infection control and wase management policy of the hospital.
3.21 Demonstrate deep knowledge in the nursing care of patients undergoing procedures.
3.22 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
3.23 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
3.24 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports.
3.25 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies.
3.26 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness programs.
3.27 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems
3.28 Ensure proper transfer of patient files to concerned departments prior to the day of surgery.
3.29 Maintains and updates all relevant patient documentations/medical records as per hospital policy and procedures.
3.30 Maintains confidentiality of patient’s records
4.1 Bachelor of Science in Nursing
4.2 Current license in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE
4.3 Minimum 2 years nursing experience in Nursing.
4.4 BLS provider
4.5 Good English spoken and written; Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.
4.6 Desirable computer knowledge.
