Shared Health is hiring a Rehabilitation Assistant for the Health Sciences Centre OT Ambulatory Care Service in Winnipeg, a 1.0 FTE, full-time, on-site role with days, evenings and weekends and an indefinite term with a stepping salary scale. The RA provides direct and indirect patient care under supervision from PT OT or SLP and may perform administrative duties. Key requirements include a completed recognized RA program with practicum or an accredited OTA/PTA program, a Manitoba high school diploma is required, CPR as per policy, and current clear Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector, Child and Adult Abuse Registry checks. Strong communication, teamwork, confidentiality, organization and safety are essential. Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Under the direction of the applicable manager, and as delegated and supervised primarily by the Physiotherapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), and/or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) performs both direct and indirect patient/resident/client care activities as determined by the specific employer. Additionally, they may carry out administrative, clerical, light housekeeping tasks, and other duties as assigned.
