MedHealth’s IPAR Rehabilitation Consultant role in West Perth welcomes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists or Exercise Physiologists to manage a supported caseload delivering occupational rehabilitation and helping clients return to health and work. You’ll perform functional capacity, worksite and ergonomic assessments, collaborate with injured workers, employers and healthcare teams, and may deliver the Re-thinking Recovery pain education program using virtual reality. New graduates are encouraged with onboarding and clear career paths. Essential: degree in OT, PT, or Exercise Physiology; full registration with AHPRA or ESSA or eligibility; strong communication, empathy and time management; a current driver’s license and access to your own car with insurance. Job Description

In this diverse role, you will enjoy the flexibility and autonomy to manage your own day. You will have the support of a strong, close team of driven and energetic healthcare professionals with the backing and resources of a global corporate infrastructure. Providing occupational rehabilitation services to clients with a range of conditions, both physical and psychological and supporting them to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes.

This opportunity working as a Rehabilitation Consultant stands out as you will also get exposure delivering some of IPAR’s innovative services including our pain education Re-thinking Recovery program. This program centres around using virtual reality and modern pain science to help people understand pain and re-train their brain and body. Re-thinking recovery is used in collaboration with a client’s current healthcare approach and will involve engagement with the entire treating team to ensure that the service is focused on the client. 

Some of your day to day includes:

• Case management (caseloads are manageable, and our consultants have the support of Rehabilitation Assistants to alleviate administrative tasks) 
• Applying your clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes & develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs
• Working collaboratively with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals
• Completing a variety of assessments using your clinical and discipline specific allied health skills, such as Functional Capacity Evaluations, Worksite Assessments, Ergonomic Assessments, and Activities of Daily Living Assessments.

Qualifications

You'll be a driven and energetic professional with hopefully all of the qualities below!

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology
• Full Professional Registration with AHPRA or Full Professional Accreditation with ESSA or eligibility to apply
• Fabulous communication skills - there is a lot of getting to know your clients and stakeholders!;
• Compassion and kindness always go a long way as does empathy;
• It's the kind of career where well developed time management skills are a must & plus!;
• A current valid Driver’s License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance is a must.
