Job Overview
The Repair & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inspection, testing, qualification, repair, and maintenance of field tools and equipment. The role ensures effective execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, retrofits, and upgrades across electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and data acquisition systems, including downhole tools. The supervisor leads maintenance activities, supervises workshop operations, assigns priorities, and ensures compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of corporate governance and ensure compliance with security, quality, HSE policies, and industry regulations.
  • Promote a strong culture of quality, health, safety, security, and environmental stewardship.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, process optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to quality management systems and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Conduct and lead daily operations meetings, safety briefings, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) sessions.
  • Maintain equipment, facilities, and work areas in a safe, clean, and operational condition.
  • Supervise repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Oversee assembly, installation, testing, calibration, and repair of tools and equipment.
  • Inspect components and assess dimensional changes or wear using precision measurement tools.
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance, modifications, and upgrade activities.
  • Ensure accurate testing, qualification, and calibration of tools in line with company procedures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review and approve work orders, service reports, maintenance records, and system entries.
  • Monitor accurate time tracking and reporting in maintenance systems.
  • Oversee workshop and laboratory operations, assign schedules, and monitor staff productivity.
  • Assess repair requirements and estimate maintenance costs.
  • Coordinate ordering and inventory management of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Report equipment failures and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with budgetary requirements and financial policies.
  • Support employee development through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Promote LEAN principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and ethical conduct while enforcing standards and procedures.

 

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
  • Ability to diagnose complex equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Understanding of hazardous materials, radioactive sources, explosives, NDT/NDE processes, and ATEX requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, schematics, and procedures.
  • Effective leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including hands-on maintenance and repair.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a repair and maintenance, workshop, or field service environment.
  • Experience with downhole tools, data acquisition systems, and oilfield equipment is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, HSE requirements, and maintenance best practices.
