The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology is seeking either a Research Assistant or Senior Research Assistant to assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in a particular discipline, make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience. Final rank will be commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions

  • Independently perform experiments and record data according to research protocols.
  • May maintain and oversee animal colony management and animal husbandry.
  • Solve problems using combined research knowledge.
  • Analyze research results. Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data.
  • Organize data search and analysis procedures.
  • Assist in establishing test controls, criteria and research standards.
  • Assist with the design of complex data processing systems to analyze research data.
  • Accomplish assigned results for projects/studies, or for significant aspects of larger, complex assignments.
  • Serve as seasoned professional.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Research Assistant

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

 

Required Experience

  • Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

  • Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
