University of Cincinnati invites applications for a full-time Research Associate in the Kasper Lab, Cancer Biology & Bioinformatics, focusing on prostate cancer progression and metastasis through cancer cell microenvironment interactions and extracellular vesicles. The role spans wet lab work with primary cell cultures, flow cytometry and imaging assays, as well as bioinformatics analyses including single-cell or spatial sequencing, with a strong emphasis on secretomes and EVs. You will manage mouse cancer models, train and supervise students, and coordinate lab supplies. Requirements: a BS in biology or related field; experience processing clinical samples, submitting and updating IACUC/IRB protocols, and performing injections, imaging, and harvesting in mice; excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team. One full-time staff position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Susan Kasper in the Department of Environmental & Public Health Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Cincinnati.
The Kasper Laboratory integrates human primary cancer cell culture, cancer stem cell biology, mouse xenograft models, and most recently extracellular vesicles in collaboration with Dr. Somchai Chutipongtanate with multiomics technologies and bioinformatics to investigate mechanisms of prostate cancer progression and metastasis. A leading focus is on mechanisms that drive cancer cell growth and metastasis, in particular cancer cell/tumor microenvironment interactions that regulate these processes via signals carried by extracellular vesicles, and to establish prognostic and predictive biomarkers of metastasis.
