The InterContinental Hotels Group® at Dubai Festival City consists of four hotels. These include the luxury and lifestyle brand InterContinental, the lavish long-stay InterContinental Residence Suites, the premium Crowne Plaza, and the essentials Holiday Inn & Suites. In addition to over 1,600 rooms, the cluster boasts a selection of 16 restaurants and bars, an impressive 3,800-square-metre Event Centre across two levels, the 5,000-square-metre Festival Arena by InterContinental, the luxurious Spa InterContinental, and state-of-the-art gym and swimming pool facilities. A little taste of your day-to-day:

People 

  • Clearly and effectively communicate hotel goals and strategies to all levels of the hotel team.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and assignments of the hotel staff; assist the Area General Manager in the development and communication of departmental strategies and goals.
  • Work within the company’s Human Resource framework to ensure the departmental performance of staff is productive. Duties include:
    • Planning for future staffing needs.
    • Recruiting in line with company guidelines.
    • Preparing detailed induction programmes for new staff.
    • Maintaining a comprehensive, current and guest focused set of departmental standards and procedures and oversees their implementation.
    • Ensuring training needs analysis of teams is carried out, and training programmes are designed and implemented to meet needs.
    • Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals -recognisegood performance. 
    • Train your team to make sure they deliver with compliance, to our standards and have the tools they need to work efficiently.
    • Coaching, counselling and disciplining staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.
    • Drive Nationalisation efforts by mentoring and integrating local talent, fostering their development, and ensuring compliance with nationalisation goals.
    • Establish/maintain a succession plan
  • Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive – connect departments to create sense of one team. 
  • Communicate and enforce policies and procedures. 
  • As a Hotel Manager, you will empower colleagues to act with integrity by fostering a Speak Up culture, creating an environment where they feel supported to ask questions, raise concerns, and adhere to the Code of Conduct. You will ensure all required training is completed and promptly address any suspected misconduct.

 

         Financial

  • Support the Area General Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of strategic and operational plans for the hotel. Provide regular direction and manage hotel operations for all departments. 
  • You will drive performance in key metrics, such as Guest Love, GSI, Loyalty Recognition, Loyalty Enrolment Efficiency, and others.
  • Monitor and report variances against budget and control labour costs and other expenses.
  • Ensure that rebates and contracts for residences are tracked, properly documented, and any concerns are communicated in a timely manner.
  • Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the hotel and/or company and brand loyalty. 
  • Foster positive owner relationships if applicable and assist in providing ongoing information and status reports

 

Guest Experience

  • Establish and implement appropriate service recovery guidelines in order to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Respond to guest complaints or concerns in a prompt and professional manner. 
  • Review guest feedback and implement strategies for continuous improvement. 
  • Communicate to appropriate departments all pertinent information requirements and special. needs for arriving VIP’s, large groups, and other key guests. 
  • Lead marketing efforts to up sell guests on hotel services, offerings, and amenities.

 

Responsible Business

  • In this role, you will contribute to our sustainability goals “Journey To Tomorrow” across key areas such as People, Communities, Carbon & Energy, Waste, and Water management.
  • Maintain a focus and commitment to operating a “green” hotel.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members and hotel/residences assets in compliance with the hotel’s or owner’s policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain relations with outside contacts. 
  • Comply with federal, state and local laws regarding health, safety and alcohol services. 
  • Ensure that the brand is at the heart of all decisions.
  • Any other duties or tasks as directed by the Area General Manager that assist and support hotel operations.
 
What we need from you:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent inHotel Administration, Business Administration. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of guest service/hotel experience with at least two years in a Hotel Manager / General Manager capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous extended stay experience or experience in a hotel of similar size and complexity preferred.
  • Must speak fluent English. Multiple languages preferred.
