Ko wai mātou – About us

Kia ora. We’re Foodies. You know Gilmours, New World, PAK’nSAVE, and Four Square, right? That’s us!

With more than 320 stores and over 27,000 Foodies across Te Ika-a-Māui, Foodstuffs North Island is a co-operative proudly owned by our Members. Our purpose is simple – making sure New Zealanders get more out of life, and we’re driven by our aspiration to be one of New Zealand’s most customer-driven and productive retailers.

Our Retail Operations & Transformation team are laser-focused on critical metrics—driving SAP support, efficiency of in-store operations, checkout performance and play a key role with new store openings & ownership changes across all three banners.

Te Tūranga – About the role

As a Retail Optimisation Advisor, you’ll play a key advisory role in improving productivity and reducing the cost of doing business across our retail network.

Working within the Planning & Performance team, you’ll use workforce, service, and operational insights to identify where productivity is being lost and where improvements can be made. You’ll translate data into clear, practical actions that help Ops and Service Partners lift execution in store.

This is a critical enabling role - rather than owning store outcomes, you’ll influence performance by highlighting opportunities, coaching improvement activity, and supporting the adoption of better ways of working.

  • Partnering with Planning & Performance, Ops, and Service teams to align insights with store realities

He kōrero mōu – About you

You’ll bring a strong mix of analytical thinking, retail understanding, and influencing skills, with the ability to turn insight into action!

  • Solid experience in retail operations, workforce planning, or operational optimisation in a multi-site environment
