Farmlands Te Whenua Tāroa in Greymouth is hiring a full-time Retail Salesperson to join an amazing team, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with one Saturday a month. You’ll deliver retail sales and customer service to shareholders, advise on sheep and beef, dry stock and general agricultural products, operate the POS, and help with stock ordering and displays. The right candidate brings farming sector knowledge or strong interest, solid interpersonal skills, proven retail or fast-paced service experience, and competent computer skills, with the physical ability to lift up to 25 kg. Mō te whai waahi | About the opportunity

We're looking for someone to join the team at our Greymouth store working 40 hours per week. This role will be Monday to Friday with one Saturday a month.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing retail sales and customer service to our shareholders

  • Advising customers on a range of sheep and beef, dry stock and general agricultural products

  • Operating a point of sale (POS) system

  • Completing administrative tasks such as ordering and receipting of stock

  • Restocking and displaying our products

Mōhou ake | About you

You’ll bring a mix of product knowledge, customer focus, and practical capability to the role, including:

  • Experience or background in the farming sector, with an interest in sheep and beef, dry stock and general agricultural products

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of customers

  • Retail sales or customer service experience, ideally in a fast‑paced environment

  • Sound computer skills, with confidence using point‑of‑sale systems and basic administrative tools

  • The ability to carry out the physical requirements of the role, including regular manual handling and lifting and carrying items up to 25 kg (e.g. bags of stock such as dog food and farm supplies)

Bonus points if you also have:

  • A valid forklift licence

  • A current first aid certificate
