DRW is seeking a Risk Manager – Equities to be based in our Amsterdam office. Reporting to the Head of Equities Risk, this role will provide independent oversight of DRW's equities, ETF, derivatives and crypto businesses. The successful candidate will partner closely with traders and business leadership to promote disciplined risk-taking and further strengthen DRW's risk management framework.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with traders, senior management and the risk management team to enhance risk frameworks, controls and tools.
  • Monitor trading activity, portfolio exposures and risk concentrations across DRW's businesses.
  • Challenge trading strategies, hedging approaches and key risk assumptions.
  • Oversee pre-trade and real-time risk controls for electronic and systematic trading activities.
  • Monitor options and derivatives exposures and perform stress testing and scenario analysis.
  • Ensure effective oversight of market, execution, liquidity and operational risks.
  • Interface with clearing firms, counterparties, exchanges and regulators on risk-related matters.
  • Escalate material risk issues to senior management and the DRW Risk Committee.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Significant experience (5 years or more) in market, trading or portfolio risk management within a proprietary trading firm, market maker, hedge fund or electronic trading business.
  • Experience navigating the EU regulatory framework for investment firms and interacting directly with European regulators.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with experience using Python, SQL, R or similar tools.
  • Deep understanding of options, volatility products and derivatives markets.
  • Experience overseeing risk for electronic, systematic or market-making trading businesses, including pre-trade risk controls.
  • Strong understanding of ETF market structure, factor models and execution risk.
  • Ability to challenge risk-taking decisions and influence stakeholders across trading and business teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage modern AI tools and automation technologies to improve analysis, monitoring and risk management workflows.
  • Sound judgement, intellectual curiosity and a proactive, independent approach.
