SEHA is hiring a Safety Officer- Occupational Health- Admin in Abu Dhabi for a full-time onsite role to develop and implement an Occupational Safety and Health Management System aligned with Abu Dhabi Public Health Center OSHAD standards, prevent work related injuries, investigate incidents, perform ergonomic evaluations and monitor program effectiveness. The position drives cross-department collaboration to advance quality and safety priorities, maintains confidential OSH documentation, delivers training, coordinates emergency preparedness, and liaises with accreditation bodies. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s in a related field, healthcare facility exposure preferred, and a master’s is a plus.  Responsible for the development and implementation of Occupational, Safety and Health Management System in compliance with Abu Dhabi Public Health Center/OSHAD Standards and Requirements aimed to prevent and control work-related injury and illness within SSMC premises. Interpreting regulatory requirements, developing & conducting OSH training, investigating workplace incidents and determining corrective actions, performing ergonomic evaluations & monitoring OSH program effectiveness and conducting workplace and process hazard reviews.



•   Coordinates  the  development  and  implementation,  and evaluation  of  the  facility's  overall quality improvement program with the other sections 
•   Collaborates and partners with all the departments and practices to ensure quality and safety priorities are implemented 
•   Facilitates and suggests improvements based on Hospital wide performance measures or other issues as requested by the senior management 
•   Contributes to the development of tools and resources to support the quality development program 
•   Participates in departmental feedback meetings to provide solutions 
•   Assists departments with project timelines and coordinating needed internal support 
•   Identifies the quality improvement methodology and concepts to be followed, in coordination with direction from management 
•   Facilitates and provides ongoing support to the quality teams 
•   Maintains the quality management documents, case files and correspondence in an organized, confidential and secure manner 
•   Facilitating   committees/   taskforce   related   to   Quality   improvement   and   assures   that recommendations/ suggestions are carried out and evaluated. 
•   Coordinates the development and implementation of OSH policies and procedures •    Liaises with accreditation bodies for the implementation of programs 
•   Ensure implementation & compliance with OSHAD requirements. 
•   Manages Staff, Un- safe, Visitors and Environmental incidents. 
•   Assists in the development of safety standards and procedures consistent with the mission of the facility, current recognized international best practices and applicable national legislation 
•   Delivers training/educational programs related to safety topics. 
•   Attends relevant meetings and associated activities. 
•   Assists with the coordination of the emergency preparedness program, ensuring that staff are competent with equipment and procedures. 
•   Acts as a resource for staff members in the area of safety 
•   Performs other tasks and duties as assigned. 
•   Investigates incidents and assists all departments with corrective actions and needed follow up. 
•   Oversees and analyzes OSH data, self-assessments, reports, trends and communicates results to hospital management and SRA and recommends plans for correction. 
•   Ensures implementing, coordinating and maintaining the reports / records submission as applicable. 
•   Collaborates with all the departments and practices to ensure quality and safety priorities are implemented 
Accountabilities 
•   Manages to investigate Staff related accidents and incidents to determine root causes, trends and adequacy of precautions and training 
•   Ensures all documents are in the appropriate format with validated data 
•   Escalates identified challenges to Manager/ Senior Officer 
•   Ensures quality and safety strategies and priorities are implemented 
•   Maintains timely follow up on action plans for improvement to close the loop and improve outcomes 
•   Develops project timelines and is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the timelines are being met 
•   Ensures Quality strategy and priorities are implemented 


 

Experience :-  
Required: 
•   3-5 years of relevant experience 

Desired: 
•   3 years’ experience in a large healthcare facility 
 Educational Qualification: Required: 
•   Bachelor's  degree  or  equivalent  in  a  relevant  field  such  as  Occupational  Health,  Safety, Environment or risk management 

Desired: 
•   Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
