Codan’s Sales Account Manager for NZ is a field‑based, relationship‑driven role that covers the country with travel, supporting a dealer and retail network for Minelab, an outdoors tech brand. You’ll grow existing accounts, uncover new opportunities, deliver product demos and activations, and represent the brand at Fieldays while keeping CRM and forecasts current. The ideal candidate is a networker who loves the outdoors, with sales or territory management experience in outdoor recreation or related retail, plus a disciplined, data‑driven, self‑starter mindset for remote work. To apply, tailor your resume with quantified wins, note travel readiness and outdoor passions, and attach a concise cover note.

About us

Minelab is a technology company that creates world-leading metal detectors to help humanitarian organisations clear landmines, gold prospectors find life-changing gold nuggets, and historians to recover lost relics. We have a culture of innovation which makes us leaders in bringing new technology to customers across the globe.

About the Role

Love the outdoors? Passionate about helping customers? Ready to build your sales career with one of the world's leading outdoor technology brands?

We're looking for a motivated Sales Account Manager to grow our business across New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, getting out on the road, and working with products they're genuinely passionate about.

Supporting our network of dealers and retail partners across both the North and South Islands, you'll help grow sales, identify new business opportunities, deliver product demonstrations, and represent the brand at major events throughout New Zealand.

This is a remote role, ideally based in Auckland or Christchurch, with regular travel throughout New Zealand. If you enjoy meeting people, working independently, and spending time in the outdoors, you'll love the variety this role offers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with dealers, retailers, and customers across New Zealand.
  • Grow existing accounts while identifying and developing new retail and dealer opportunities.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations, training sessions, and retail activations.
  • Represent the brand at Fieldays, trade shows, dealer open days, club events, and community activities.
  • Support new product launches, promotional campaigns, and seasonal sales initiatives.
  • Work closely with retail partners to improve product ranging, merchandising, and customer engagement.
  • Maintain a disciplined call cycle, sales pipeline, and CRM records.
  • Capture customer feedback and market insights to support future product development and sales growth.
  • Travel extensively throughout New Zealand to support customers, events, and business development activities.

About You

You're a natural relationship builder who enjoys working with people and being out in the field rather than behind a desk. You thrive on helping customers, identifying opportunities, and growing long-term partnerships.

Experience in sales, account management, business development, or territory management is important, particularly within outdoor recreation, sporting goods, hunting, fishing, camping, 4WD or similar retail environments. Experience working with dealer or retail networks will be highly regarded.

A genuine passion for the outdoors is essential. Whether your interests include prospecting, metal detecting, camping, hunting, fishing, farming, or other outdoor pursuits, you'll understand the customers we serve and enjoy representing products that help them get the most from their adventures.

You'll be organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working remotely while managing your own travel schedule. Experience using CRM systems and taking a data-driven approach to managing customer relationships, sales opportunities, and forecasting will help you succeed.

Benefits and Culture

Our culture is supportive and collaborative. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team where we share our ideas and innovation is strongly encouraged. We are looking for someone with genuine passion and can-do attitude for what they do.

Additionally, our staff are provided flexibility to meet the demands of family life and a variety of staff events to connect with colleagues across the Codan Group.
