Nutrien Ag Solutions is hiring a Sales Agronomy professional for a 12-month contract in Dorrigo, NSW. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will partner with growers across pasture, livestock and mixed farming, delivering agronomic advice, on-farm visits and practical recommendations that boost productivity and sustainability while growing customer value. You’ll build relationships, develop pasture and crop nutrition plans, stay current with innovations, and help run field days. The ideal candidate has proven agronomy experience in grazing systems, solid sales planning and customer-growth skills, an Agricultural Science degree, a current driver’s licence and a customer-focused mindset. What You'll Do:

 

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll partner with growers and producers across the region, providing trusted agronomic advice and helping customers maximise productivity, profitability and sustainability. No two days are the same, with opportunities to work across pasture, livestock, and mixed farming systems.

 

  • Provide high-quality agronomic and technical advice to growers across the region.
  • Conduct on-farm visits and deliver practical recommendations tailored to customer needs.
  • Drive product sales both in-store and on-farm.
  • Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through superior agronomic insight and customer service.
  • Develop pasture, crop nutrition, crop protection and farm management plans.
  • Identify opportunities to grow sales and deliver value-added solutions.
  • Share relevant technical, seasonal and market insights to improve farm productivity and sustainability.
  • Stay current with the latest production practices, technologies and agronomic innovations.
  • Coordinate and participate in field days, trials and grower events, positioning yourself as a trusted local advisor.

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Proven agronomy experience, ideally within pasture, livestock, grazing or mixed farming systems.
  • Demonstrated capability in sales planning, call cycle management and customer growth.
  • Strong understanding of crop nutrition, fertiliser and crop protection products.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and provide practical on-farm advice.
  • Commercial acumen with a customer-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A genuine passion for Australian agriculture and helping growers succeed.
  • A tertiary qualification in Agricultural Science (or a related discipline).
  • A current driver's licence.
