The Role

We are seeking a driven Sales Executive to join Saverglass, a global leader in premium glass packaging for the wine and spirits industry. This role plays a key part in new business development and market expansion across the South Island of New Zealand.

This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring a proactive hunter mindset. You will spend at least three days per week on the road, meeting with prospective and existing customers, building relationships, and positioning Saverglass as a premium partner of choice.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect and secure new business opportunities to drive growth across New Zealand
  • Manage a selected segment of the existing customer portfolio with a primary focus on hunting, developing and converting new business opportunities.
  • Spend significant time in market (approx. 60%), visiting customers and prospects to build strong, trusted relationships
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, preparing and negotiating commercial proposals aligned to pricing and margin expectations
  • Contribute to sales budget development and monitor performance against targets, taking action where required
  • Manage customer forecasts and demand planning, ensuring accurate conversion of forecasts to orders
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and collaborate with internal teams to deliver customer projects and outcomes

About You

  • Demonstrated and ongoing success in planning and executing new business development strategies
  • Proven experience in a similar sales role, ideally within the wine, beverage or packaging industry
  • Strong ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships at multiple levels
  • Highly self-motivated and autonomous, with the ability to work independently in a field-based role
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills with a strong commercial mindset
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
  • Flexibility in hours, including occasional calls accommodate time zone differences
