Role Summary

The Scale Operator is responsible for the daily operation of the scale house, including weighing vehicles, maintaining accurate records, and managing site traffic flow. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient facility operations through strong attention to detail, customer service, and adherence to procedures.

Daily Responsibilities

•    Operate weigh scales, computer systems, and scale software
•    Perform data entry and maintain accurate records and tickets
•    Screen and record incoming/outgoing loads
•    Direct vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility
•    Maintain a clean and controlled scale house environment
•    Check basic functionality of scale equipment
•    Answer phone calls and provide routine information
•    Use MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)
•    Support shipping/receiving by entering product information
•    Perform other operational tasks as required

Qualifications

•    Strong work ethic; ability to work independently and in small teams
•    Reliable transportation to/from the site (limited or no public transit)
•    Excellent communication and customer service skills
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office
•    Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate documentation
•    Comfortable working rotational day/night shifts

Working Conditions

  • Rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights), weekends, and overtime as required
