Seasonal Vegetation Control with the County of Grande Prairie No. 1 in Clairmont, AB is an onsite full-time seasonal role with an immediate start through October 31, 2026. You will spray weeds and brush on county property including roadsides and gravel pits, assess sites, map spray zones, load and apply chemicals, and maintain spraying records using a spray truck, UTV or ATV and hand tools. Expect early starts around 5:00 am during peak season and occasional weekends or evenings. Requirements include a valid Class 5 license, ability to read maps and use MS Office, physical fitness, and training such as TDG, H2S, ATV/UTV, Defensive Driving; pesticide license is an asset. Vegetation Control is responsible for spraying weeds and brush on County-owned property including on roadsides and in gravel pits. This position typically works Monday through Friday and during busy season with a 5:00 a.m. start time, with some weekends and evenings as required.
Responsibilities include:
Term Length: Immediate start until October 30th, 2026.
Work Schedule: This position works 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Weekends and Stat holidays off.
Hourly Pay: $29.27 to $34.43.
Closing Date: August 16th, 2026 11.59 pm Mountain Time.
