We are seeking an inspiring and passionate Year 7/8 Teacher to join our Maungaturoto Campus. This is a permanent, full-time position, commencing Term 1, 2027, or sooner where possible.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a pivotal stage of students' educational journeys, helping them build confidence, independence, and a love of learning as they prepare for secondary education.
For suitably experienced candidates, there may also be an opportunity to lead the Campus Student Support Team as an additional responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging and meaningful learning programmes for Year 7/8 students.
• Foster student ownership of learning, self-discipline, and collaboration.
• Implement our Learn to Learn framework to develop effective learning habits and strategies.
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and high-quality teaching practices.
• Encourage inquiry, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills.
• Build positive relationships with parents and caregivers to support student success.
Skills and Experience
• Current New Zealand teacher registration and practising certificate.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
• Experience teaching Year 7/8 students or a similar age group.
• A passion for innovative teaching practices that promote active learning and critical thinking.
• Strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across the school community.
• Experience in student wellbeing, pastoral care, or learning support would be advantageous.
