Job Description

The Ohio Department of Taxation is responsible for the administration of individual and business taxes across the state. The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking to fill one (1) Security Officer 1 position in the Building Security Division. 

What You’ll do as a Security Officer 1:

  • Maintains Security of the buildings and grounds by conduction rounds on foot or in vehicle
  • Making Security checks of premises
  • Checks security windows and doors in high security area after working hours
  • Monitors persons entering and leaving premises &/or monitors electronic detection equipment intrusions
  • Maintains documentation of security checks
  • Maintains Visitor Management system (EasyLobby) by logging visitors and taxpayers entering and leaving premises
  • Issues Security identification badges using security badge making equipment and software (LenelS2)
  • Responds to emergency calls throughout the assigned facilities
  • Familiar with the operation and use of CCTV software (Milestone)
  • 24hr afterhours response to Northland for building alarms
  • CPR and use of life saving equipment

Qualifications

Supplemental Information

The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Section 2961 of the Ohio Revised Code prohibits individuals convicted of a felony including but not limited to fraud, deceit, or theft from holding a position that has substantial management or control over the property of a state agency. Additionally, section 5703.081 of the Ohio Revised Code requires the Ohio Department of Taxation employees to promptly file and pay tax returns.
