Contract type: Permanent
Location: Glasgow or Alderley
Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

Join Royal London’s growing Accessibility Centre of Excellence and shape how accessibility is embedded in supplier assurance and procurement decisions, helping the business meet its responsibilities to customers and colleagues. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced accessibility professional to influence the market by making accessibility a core requirement rather than an optional extra.

You’ll assess third‑party products and services, challenge supplier claims, and enable informed, risk‑based decisions. Working closely with Procurement, Legal, Digital and wider teams, you’ll ensure accessibility is considered from the outset, strengthening governance, reducing risk, and improving customer outcomes. You’ll also support the development of accessibility standards, tools and ways of working, making this ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and stakeholder influence.

About the role

  • Lead accessibility assurance activity for suppliers, supporting procurement and due diligence assessments across Royal London.
  • Review and challenge supplier accessibility evidence, including statements, Accessibility Conformance Reports, questionnaires and product demonstrations.
  • Conduct proportionate accessibility testing of products and services as needed to validate supplier claims.
  • Identify accessibility risks and provide clear recommendations to support governance, legal and commercial decision-making.
  • Maintain records of decisions, exceptions, and evidence.
  • Track remediation commitments from suppliers as required.
  • Partner with Procurement, Legal and business teams to embed accessibility requirements and contractual expectations into supplier processes.
  • Use insight from supplier assurance activity to improve accessibility standards, governance and continuous improvement across the organisation.

About you

  • Strong experience in digital accessibility, ideally within consultancy, assurance, procurement or supplier-related environments.
  • Solid working knowledge of WCAG and how it applies to digital products and services.
  • Confidence reviewing supplier evidence, challenging claims and translating technical findings into practical recommendations.
  • The ability to assess accessibility risks in a balanced way, considering customer, regulatory, operational and reputational impacts.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • An analytical, collaborative approach and a passion for improving inclusive customer experiences through accessible design and governance.
