Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the digital transformation of NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA), supporting the delivery of innovative solutions that support our strategic goals and improve the experience for everyone using New Zealand’s land transport system.

The Senior Advisor Digital Performance will report to our Manager Digital Initiatives, with the role performing a combination of two critical functions:

  • risk and assurance -  tracking, reporting and monitoring risks to support key governance forums.
  • portfolio management -  producing portfolio status and financial reporting ensuring with clear insights to support investment decisions.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Excellent written communication, with the ability to turn information into clear, concise governance reporting that highlights the “so what” for senior leaders and support confident decision making.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including being able to dig into complex issues, navigate ambiguity and bring people together to find solutions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder skills, with the ability to hustle, juggle competing priorities, and work effectively with delivery teams, senior leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Broad experience across risk and assurance and portfolio environments, including:
  • - Identifying and managing risk at all levels, backed by up-to-date knowledge of risk and assurance practices
  • - Commercial acumen with hands-on portfolio management – planning, budgeting, forecasting and producing insights to guide investment decisions.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • A commitment to Te Ao Māori, tikanga, Te Reo Māori, and an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the public sector.
