The Role

We're seeking a detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst / Client Operations Analyst to join our Belfast office and take ownership of our operational processes. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with major financial institutions, combining data analysis expertise with meaningful client relationships. You'll play a key role in executing our monthly reporting cycles, validating data accuracy across multiple sources, supporting client implementations, and identifying strategic opportunities for cost optimization.

Ideal Candidate Background

We're targeting candidates with titles/experience such as:

• Data Analyst with SQL and Python/pandas experience in financial services
• Operations Analyst from FinTech or SaaS companies with data validation and client exposure
• Junior Business Intelligence Analyst with experience in data reconciliation and quality assurance
• Financial Systems Analyst with Python scripting and SQL database experience
• Data Quality Analyst from consulting firms who have worked with multiple data sources
• Technical Analyst from financial software companies with client-facing responsibilities

What Success Looks Like

• Writing effective Python scripts and sql queries to automate and enhance current and new analysis.
• Building trusted relationships with client technical and business teams, becoming their go-to contact for data and operational questions
• Proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities in client data and presenting actionable recommendations that drive value
• Growing your market data domain knowledge through hands-on client work, becoming a subject matter expert in our industry

Key Responsibilities

Client Management

• Attend client and internal meetings, taking detailed notes and following up on action items to ensure seamless communication while in training. In the future this person will be leading clients meetings.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular touchpoints and proactive communication as a market data expert.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Execute monthly reporting cycles using SQL and Python/pandas to analyze client data, track cost fluctuations, and deliver timely insights to clients and internal teams
• Maintain data accuracy by testing outputs through running SQL queries and Python scripts, comparing results to platform data to ensure operational processes remain reliable and error-free

Process Improvement

• Develop Python scripts and queries to automate repetitive analysis tasks, and create new scripts to enhance the opportunities identification process and client’s insights.
• Review reports to identify cost-saving strategies and optimization opportunities (called "Opportunities") using our Submarine tool, documenting findings and collaborating with clients to implement recommendations
• Document recurring tasks and suggest process improvements to make operations more efficient, working closely with the team to implement changes

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in data‑driven, analytical, or operational roles, ideally within financial services, SaaS, market data, or related environments
• Strong SQL skills for querying and managing data in a structured database environment (PostgreSQL experience preferred
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation, with hands-on experience using pandas DataFrames and Jupyter Notebooks (or similar IDEs)
• Advanced Excel proficiency for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting
• Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance across multiple data sources
• Experience managing recurring processes or operational workflows, ideally in a tech or financial services environment
• Excellent communication skills for client interactions and internal collaboration
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to data accuracy and completeness
• Comfortable with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc) to automate and provide efficiency in his/her work

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial services or FinTech industry experience
• Familiarity with market data providers like Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or FactSet
• Experience working with various file formats (.zip, .pdf, .csv) and extracting data programmatically
• Experience with data visualization tools or business intelligence platforms
• Comfort working across time zones with US-based clients and teams
