Civmec’s Balanced Machines Division continues to grow, with multiple Design and Construct projects awarded and a strong pipeline of future work. Designed, fabricated, assembled, and tested at our Henderson facility, these projects support some of Australia’s leading mining and resource clients.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controller to join our project delivery team. Working across a portfolio of major machine projects, you will be responsible for cost control, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis to support successful project outcomes.

 

The Role

  • Compile and review monthly project reports on KPI’s
  • Lead and assist with the compilation of financial budgets and forecasts for the business unit including but not limited to project working hours, material and subcontract costs.
  • Manage overhead costs within the business unit.
  • Monitor business unit and project activities for compliance with legal, ethical and professional standards.
  • Conduct financial audits on the projects, with a focus on cost and revenue forecasts.
  • Monitor outstanding debtors and assist Project Managers to resolve.
  • Raise purchase orders for non-contract based procurement
  • Monitor committed/open Purchase Orders and ensure that Purchase Orders are closed out within an appropriate timeframe.

 

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in the related discipline - bachelor's degree in finance, or relevant field
  • Previously worked in the Mining, Construction and Engineering sectors
  • Knowledge in the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost control tools
  • Microsoft Office Suite intermediate/advanced
  • High attention to detail and proven organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
