Tips to strengthen your candidacy
Lead with your academic background and the depth of your SCADA and control-system experience. Put your bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering, computer science, or a related field up front, and back it with at least 10 years in design, installation, integration, testing and maintenance of control, computer or communications systems.
Show off your leadership in practice. Highlight at least two years of supervisory work, including examples of guiding design, installation, integration and testing efforts, plus any formal leadership roles you held on relevant projects.
Be ready to talk about integrative work across a broad tech footprint. Prepare concrete projects where you connected DWDM/SONET networks with signal systems, PATH Center operations and power distribution or security systems, and describe how you managed upgrades and created clear documentation and schedules.
If you have hands-on with the technologies listed in the nice-to-have section, be prepared to discuss specific programming or integration challenges. Consider sharing examples involving Visual C++ or PLC programming with TI, GE or Siemens units, HMI work with Cimplicity or Kepware/OPC servers, and any automated diagnostics or high-speed data network troubleshooting you’ve done. Finally, think of a thoughtful question to ask about the hybrid work setup, for instance how the team coordinates field work with in-office collaboration on major upgrades.
