bunq is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for Contract Review to own the full third-party contract review portfolio from day one, scale with Luminance AI, and design automated MB reporting on third-party risk. The role requires a banking or finance background with understanding of DNB and AFM, deep TPRM, DPA/GDPR, PSD2/DORA/DNB, and experience with AI contract review tools governance, not just usage, plus the ability to translate complex legal requirements into clear business guidance. Proactive, eager to learn, and a strong communicator with a Master of Law; Dutch language is a plus. Take ownership
As our Legal Counsel, you will:
Own the full third-party contract review queue from day one, zero SLA breaches, no gaps during transition.
Govern and improve Luminance (our AI contract review tool) beyond NDAs to the entire portfolio, keeping its playbooks calibrated to bunq's real risk appetite.
Design automated MB reporting on third-party risk, proactive, forward-looking, not a manual status list.
Requirements
Background in banking or finance: you understand the regulatory environment and how authorities like DNB or AFM operate.
You bring deep third-party contract expertise — TPRM, DPA/GDPR, PSD2/DORA/DNB — and can turn that into clear, risk-oriented MB reporting.
You've worked with AI contract review tools (Luminance or equivalent) and know how to govern them, not just use them.
You know how to turn complex legal requirements into clear, useful guidance for the business.
You’re proactive, eager to learn, and always looking for better ways to work.
You explain legal topics in a way everyone can understand.
You have a Master’s degree in Law.
It’s a plus if you speak Dutch 🇳🇱
